Matt Kaminer⏐Associate

Matt Kaminer represents clients in high-stakes business litigation, with an emphasis on antitrust, deceptive and unfair trade practices, intellectual property, and consumer-law matters. He advises Fortune 500 companies in the sports, technology, energy, and financial services industries, and frequently handles matters with both private civil and government enforcement dimensions. Matt also has significant appellate experience—having briefed appeals before the United States Supreme Court, several U.S. Courts of Appeals, and state appellate courts across the country—with particular experience litigating arbitration-related issues.

Matt maintains an active pro bono practice spanning death penalty, immigration, and housing rights matters. His pro bono experience includes representing an inmate on Alabama’s death row in a constitutional challenge to the state’s nitrogen hypoxia method of execution, helping a young child to secure special immigrant juvenile status, and representing formerly homeless individuals in New York City as appellate counsel in a rent-stabilization lawsuit.

Matt attended Washington & Lee University School of Law, where he was Lead Online Editor of the Washington and Lee Law Review and won the John W. Davis Appellate Advocacy Competition. Matt also received his undergraduate degree in Journalism from Washington & Lee, where he captained the varsity wrestling team.
