Jessica Phillips⏐Partner
Jessica Phillips is an experienced trial lawyer who has litigated high-stakes disputes in a diverse array of practice areas, including employment law, contract law, business torts, antitrust and competition law, securities fraud, constitutional law, defamation, healthcare, and intellectual property. Jessica also advises clients facing a broad range of regulatory matters and has successfully litigated administrative challenges of legislation. Chambers and Partners reports that clients note that Jessica is “intelligent, diligent, and has outstanding judgment and deep experience” and that she is “a first-class lawyer.”
Jessica has taken 13 cases to trial in federal and state courts across the country. Her trial victories have included some of the most significant, impactful business disputes over the past decade, including: International Construction Products LLC v. Caterpillar Inc. et al., winning a $100 million jury verdict for International Construction Products in its long-running lawsuit against industry giant Caterpillar; Oracle USA, Inc . v. Rimini Street, Inc., securing a trial victory and permanent injunction against Rimini Street over its copying of Oracle software; Epic Games Inc . v. Apple Inc., the high-stakes challenge to the App Store by the makers of Fortnite, which ended in victory for Apple following a three-week trial; Oracle U.S., Inc . v. Rimini Street, Inc. in a $50 million verdict—later increased to $124 million—following a three-and-a-half week jury trial; Waymo LLC v. Uber Technologies, Inc., one of the most high-profile and hotly-contested trade secrets cases ever taken to trial, resulting in a favorable settlement after four days of trial; Found. for Seacoast Health v. Hosp. Corp. of Am., winning a complete defense victory at trial in a billion-dollar case over ownership of a hospital; and Lazard Tech. Partners, LLC v. Qinetiq N. Am. Operations LLC, winning a complete defense victory at trial on behalf of the U.S. services business of a major British multinational defense technology company over an earn-out provision.
Jessica was also one of the lead trial attorneys in the landmark civil rights case, Sines v. Kessler, winning a groundbreaking verdict against the leaders of the neo-Nazi and white supremacist movements in America responsible for the racially-motivated violence in Charlottesville, Virginia in August 2017. Jessica and the trial team’s work on this groundbreaking lawsuit was featured in the 2023 HBO documentary, “No Accident.”
Jessica has received numerous awards and recognitions. She is Chambers and Partners-ranked in General Commercial Litigation. Jessica was a finalist for Euromoney’s “Women in Business Law” awards as “Technology Lawyer of the Year.” Jessica has earned “Litigator of the Week” recognition by The American Lawyer three times. Jessica is also recognized by Lawdragon in their 2024 and 2025 “500 Leading Litigators in America.”
