Ben Cabranes represents clients in high-stakes disputes spanning antitrust, employment, and complex commercial litigation as well as in complex and often overlapping regulatory, internal, and congressional investigations. Ben also advises leading companies in the sports & entertainment, technology, energy, and healthcare sectors regarding regulatory compliance issues.
Ben has defended a major professional sports organization in a high-profile antitrust dispute and represented a global technology platform in antitrust litigation. He has represented a global retailer in connection with internal and regulatory investigations by the CFPB and prepared Fortune 50 CEOs and other corporate executives for testimony before Senate and House Committees in high-profile congressional hearings. His experience also includes representing a major professional sports organization in an employment discrimination lawsuit and defending a financial institution in a class action employment dispute involving wage-and-hour and employee classification claims.
Ben maintains an active pro bono practice, including serving as litigation counsel on behalf of child victims of sexual abuse in the D.C. area, advocating for U.S. veterans appealing wrongful denials of service-related benefits, and acting as a lead ambassador for D.C. Legal Aid's annual Making Justice Real Campaign since 2020. He serves on the Board of Tiny Cat Animal Rescue, a Virginia-based nonprofit focused on community cat welfare in the Washington, D.C. area. Ben attended the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as Articles Editor of the Journal of Law and Politics.
Ben graduated from Dartmouth College before working in the Digital Media group of the National Basketball Association and then as an Investigative Analyst in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office Public Corruption Unit prior to law school.
